Food & Drink : You have a hunger and thirst meter in this game. (they only appear if you are hungry or thirsty) Additionally, what you eat and drink actually matters. Food and drinks typically do not heal you in any way. What they do however is stuff like raise your stamina over a time and other effects such as stat boosts. Every item has it's own effect curve.
  • Healthy Food Examples
    • Bread
    • Fruits
  • Unhealthy Food Examples
    • Confections
    • Alcohol
Healing Items : Items that slow, stop, and/or recover blood loss or other effects. Every item has it's own effect curve.
  • Potions (consumed orally)
  • Lotions (applied to the skin, some may be used in conjunction with Bandages)
  • Powders (applied to the skin, some may be used to create lotions or potions)
Scrolls & Books : Although usually scrolls & books are nothing more than reading material, some give your character insight into various techniques and skills. Technique-giving scrolls automatically create a rough draft of the technique in your technique editor. Technique-giving books not only copy a rough draft but also a 2nd, full copy of the technique into your technique editor. Thing is you can't save or alter the full copy, and you can only use the full copy so long as you have the book with you. Skill-giving scrolls and books work in an opposite fashion. Skill-giving scrolls allow you to use the skill while you have the scroll with you. Skill-giving books permanently allow you to use the skill. Some scrolls and books are better written than others, and reading better written scrolls and books will improve your ability to use the subject matter.
